Do I need to book in advance?
Absolutely. We are appointment based: often there is nobody here if we do not have a booking. When you book there will be a Game Master assigned to take care of your session.
How many players? Can we bring extra people on the day?
Each room has a different player capacity:
- Nova – Mission to Mars (2-8 players)
- Wizard’s Lair (2-6 players)
- The Enchanted Forest(2-4 players, must all be over 16 years old)
- The Mad Scientist (4-6 players)
If you have a larger group, you will need to split up and do multiple rooms at the same time. If you have extra players on the day, that’s absolutely fine as long as you’re still within the room’s capacity. Extra players are $40 a head.
Will we really be locked inside?
The short answer is no. For health and safety reasons you can exit the game room at any time. Obviously for the full immersion of the game it is better if you don’t leave.
What should I bring?
Everything you need to complete our escape rooms is inside the room – you don’t need to bring anything from outside in!
We need to reschedule/cancel!
If you have signed up with a username and password when you booked, you can log in and make changes to your booking. If you signed in as a guest you will need to contact us to make changes.
Any changes or cancellations made less than 24 hours from session start time will result in non-refund of your $135 booking fee. This covers staffing arrangements that will have been made.-
What is an Escape Room?
An escape room is a fun way for you to spend an hour with friends doing something a little bit different. You will enter a themed room and as a team you will discover many hidden objects, codes, keys, riddles and clues that will help you complete your simple final goal: escaping the room in 60 minutes!
How long do we have in the room? Is it hard to escape?
You have 60 minutes inside the room to attempt your escape. Doing so will be a challenge, but our Game Masters will be supporting you to ensure you don’t get too stuck!
When should we arrive? What if we're late?
We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to ensure you get the full time in the room – the timer starts at your booking time!
If you have multiple rooms booked for larger groups, please make sure all group members are aware that they will need to arrive at least 15 minutes before the booking time.
Will we have to play with strangers?
No, as soon as you book a room it becomes yours exclusively for your play session.
Accessibility
Please contact us to discuss your accessibility needs. We offer free entry to companion card holders with a paying customer.
COVIDSafe
We are following and keeping up to date with Victorian government health guidelines. Rooms are cleaned between each session. We have hand sanitiser available in all rooms.
Is there car parking available?
Yes, we have car parking available outside the building, and street parking is available on Carbine Way if required.
How old should I be?
Groups can be made up of friends of a similar age or teams that span decades. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a playing adult parent or guardian. Not recommended for children under the age of 7. For safety reasons, children under 3 are not admitted.
If a child under 12 wants to do an escape room for their birthday celebration with children the same age, they must choose The Mad Scientist room.
Will it be scary? Are there actors in the rooms?
Our escape rooms are family friendly.
There are no actors giving jump scares in any of our rooms..
Do you host parties?
We are an Escape Room business which can be a fun event as part of your birthday celebration, we do not however provide catering or have a dedicated party space available for you to use. Mornington has a great variety of options for the rest of your celebration.
Is Alcohol allowed?
Our Escape Rooms will challenge your brain, so please come sober, and save the drinking for afterwards to celebrate your successful escape!
Alcohol/drug affected players will be refused entry and no refund will be given.
